Nancy Midcalf is a Registered Dietitian who has vast experience working with child nutrition programs.
Nancy earned her B.S. degree in Home Economics with an emphasis in Foods and Nutrition at California State University Northridge and completed a Dietetic Internship at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Nancy’s work experience includes six years as the Food and Nutrition Services Manager of the Monterey County Office of Education Head Start program which was nominated for the California Department of Education, Nutrition Services Division’s prestigious “Outstanding Child Nutrition Program Award for 2007-08”. She also worked for 2 years as the WIC Director at Merced County Community Action Agency, for 8 years as the Food Service Director for Madera Unified School District, and for 10 years as the Food Service Manager for Turlock Elementary School District. Prior to her career in child and prenatal nutrition, Nancy worked as a Clinical Dietitian and Assistant Director of Dietetic Services at Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood, CA for five years.
Nancy previously worked for Cal-Pro-NET in 2001 helping with the development of the PIN (Promoting Integrity Now) curriculum for the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) Management courses for Directors of Child Care Centers, Day Care Homes, and Monitors.
At Cal-Pro-NET, Nancy develops and presents trainings related to the administration of the CACFP. She has taught regional courses on topics such as financial and food service management, child nutrition and CACFP regulations.
